My work sits at the intersection of governance, strategy, and stakeholder environments.

I have experience operating in settings where decisions involve multiple organisations, competing priorities, and a high degree of public accountability. In these contexts, I focus on supporting clear, well-informed decision-making and contributing to outcomes that are practical, balanced, and sustainable.

Governance & Decision-Making

Through my governance roles, I have contributed to decision-making across a range of portfolios, including transport, urban environment, community wellbeing, and natural environment.

This has involved:

  • Assessing complex and often competing information
  • Participating in formal governance processes
  • Contributing to structured, evidence-informed decisions
  • Maintaining accountability within public decision-making frameworks

I have chaired formal hearings and deliberations, applying due process and supporting robust decision-making in settings that require both rigour and judgement.

Strategic Advice in Complex Environments

I am experienced in environments where decisions are not straightforward — where there are multiple perspectives, constraints, and potential impacts to consider.

In these situations, my focus is on:

  • Understanding the wider system context
  • Identifying key risks and trade-offs
  • Supporting decisions that are workable in practice
  • Maintaining clarity where issues are complex or contested

Stakeholder & Relationship Leadership

A core part of my work has involved building and maintaining relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, including:

  • Council-controlled organisations
  • Iwi partners
  • Business associations
  • Community stakeholders
  • Elected members and organisational leaders

I take a considered and respectful approach to stakeholder engagement, with a focus on building trust, enabling constructive dialogue, and supporting progress across differing perspectives.

Working Across Systems & Organisations

I have worked across organisational boundaries, particularly within the Auckland Council environment and its associated entities.

This has required:

  • Understanding how different organisations operate and interact
  • Navigating differing priorities and constraints
  • Supporting coordination across multiple stakeholders
  • Contributing to outcomes that depend on alignment across systems

Public Accountability & Judgement

Much of my experience has been in environments that are visible, contested, and subject to public scrutiny.

In these settings, I bring:

  • Sound judgement
  • Discretion
  • An ability to remain measured and constructive
  • A focus on process, fairness, and accountability

Te Tiriti o Waitangi

I am committed to the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi and bring a practical understanding of how it informs governance and decision-making.

I have built and maintained relationships with iwi partners and approach this work with respect, care, and an understanding of its importance within Aotearoa New Zealand.

I contribute best in environments where complexity, accountability, and multiple perspectives need to be carefully navigated — and where effective decision-making depends on clarity, judgement, and trust.
